You're invited to a DOW Insulation Training Class

We are very happy to partner with DOW chemical to provide insulation products to our customers. We will be hosting a special training class on January 19th to cover products, systems, and building sciences regarding DOW insulation products. (See the flyer above, and talk with your salesman for additional information)  Steve Dawson, DOW Chemical, will be our presenter, and this training class will be held in the Rio Grande Co training center. We have room for 30 people in each class and will reserve space on a first come first served basis. We will add a second class from 1pm to 4pm if the class expands beyond one session. All attendees will be required to RSVP to Vince Mattei at  vmattei@riograndeco.com.

Cleaning and Sealing Tile and Masonry Training Class

 Rio Grande Co hosted a training class on the 7th of December to instruct on the intricacies of the ever changing business of Tile and Masonry. We were instructed by Ed Nagel of Nagel and Associates who represents Prosoco. Ed has over 20 years experience selling and teaching about these products and systems. The class was very informative and was attended by over 35 contractors. It was a pleasure to have Ed and all the customers that chose to be with us for this fantastic event. We will hold similar events in the near future. Our training center at Rio Grande Co is ideal for hosting these types of training classes and we are thrilled to have vendors who are willing to partner with us to stand with us as leaders of the market in each of the product categories that we represent.

Rio Grande Co Training Facilities

Here is a short video showing off the Rio Grande Co Training Facilities. These are located on the north side of the main facility at 201 Santa Fe Drive in Denver. We are very excited to have such a great venue to train our employees as well as have customer training. This training facility has been used for over 75 training classes in the past 3 years. Wolcott Barbeque a huge success!

Customer appreciation bar-be-que held by Rio Grande Co in our Wolcott location on Wednesday July 28th. We had over 70 people in attendance and were privileged to have a beautifuly warm summer day. The food was great and plentiful for all who were in attendance as well. We were able to introduce our new Wolcott branch Manager Mark Medina who started last week and will be managing the Wolcott location for the future. We are pleased with the great turn out and glad that we were able to share an afternoon with all our friends from the mountains. Thanks!

Architectural AIA Open House hosted by RIO GRANDE CO 9/14/2010

On September 14th 2010, Rio Grande Co will be hosting an AIA Open house. All of the listed material manufacturers will be presenting one or more of their AIA approved product programs. Those programs are listed on the back of the invitation, which is pictured here. We strongly encourage all those who are able to join us for this very informative event. Masonry Cleaning and Water Repellent Seminar a huge success

We were finally able to hold our Masonry Cleaning and Water Repellent systems class today. We had 15 people here for the class and consider that a huge success considering that we had to schedule three times due to inclimate weather. It has been a tough spring to get these types of things done outdoors. This class had a classroom portion to go over the Prosoco powerpoint program identifying the reasons that it will be hard to clean in the future the same way we will now. The reality is that we will not be able to use chemical cleaning products for much longer. This is going to cause the masons and cleaning contractors to find new ways to make sure their masonry looks sharp when they are finished. In reviewing the appropriate steps to get this cleaning done, Ed Nagel, Prosoco representative was very helpful and instructional. We worked on substrates built of smooth faced block, ground faced block, brick veneer, and manufactured stone. With all the different needs of each of these individual products, Ed was careful to show which ones best suited the needs of that application. Color and bleaching are always issues when using chemicals to clean with as well as the color of the mortar in the joints.

The food and weather were great and we are glad that we were able to host this fantastic and informative class. Thanks for all those that were behind the scenes and put this together!

Masonry Cleaning and Water Repellent Seminar NEW DATE MAY 12, 2010

WE have rescheduled this event due to weather!! Mark your calendars!! Rio Grande Co is going to host a special masonry cleaning and water repellent / sealing seminar on May 12th.  Ed Nagel from Prosoco will lead the hands on demonstrations and show proper methods of cleaning block, colored block, split face block, brick and stone. There will be mock up panels built for a hands-on cleaning. Ed will also demonstrate the application of repellents and sealers. This will be a classroom and hands-on seminar with all the necessary new technical requirements covered.

Lunch will be served as we begin this training class at 12pm. The class is scheduled to run from 12pm to 4pm. This training class will take place in Rio Grande Co's main yard at 201 Santa Fe Drive Denver, Colorado. Please RSVP to Vince Mattei at 303.218.6362 to confirm your space in this seminar. Rio Grande Co hosting DSI / DYWIDAG training

Please join Rio Grande Co. and DYWIDAG Systems International (DSI) for an informational seminar highlighting DSI’s geotechnical product range and applications.

Our guest speaker will be DSI’s Geotechnical Business Unit, Chief Engineer, Lucian Bogdan, P.E., who will provide an overview of various solutions for earth retention and foundation support with Tiebacks, Soil Nails and Micropiles utilizing Threadbar®, Multi-Strand Anchors, and Hollow Bar (DYWI Drill) systems, as well as the DYWIDAG Driven Ductile Iron Pipe Piling System.
